The philosophy
Play is not the opposite of work.
It is the source of it.
Stuart Brown, the world’s leading researcher on play, found that play deprivation in adults produces the same neurological damage as sleep deprivation. The most creative, most innovative, most humanly alive people are not the ones who work hardest. They are the ones who never stopped playing.
Récréox exists because the world is full of conferences that promise connection and deliver business cards. We are building something different: a weekend so human, so carefully designed, and so unlike anything you’ve attended, that you will leave with something no boardroom, no accelerator, no masterclass has ever given you.

Warm Texas days. Open fires at night. The Hill Country at its most alive. The founding edition arrives just before Thanksgiving — the perfect moment to exhale before the year-end sprint and remember what actually matters.

Second Edition
Venue: the. greenbrier · sulphuric spring, West Virginia
Long evenings. Open sky. In the wild and wonderful hills of West Virginia in full color. The winter edition is expansive and bright, play in its most ancient, outdoor, uncontained form. Exact dates announced to founding community first.
A curated, invitation-only experience for guests who have forgotten what it feels like to play. Held twice yearly at Rough Creek Lodge, Texas Hill Country.
